Park project runs into the rough: Residents concerned over proposal to develop land across street from Schenectady golf course.

Jan. 9--SCHENECTADY -- As predictable as a duffer slicing his first drive of the year, any suggestion of private development at the Schenectady Municipal Golf Course or on surrounding parkland will trigger controversy.

A number of residents who live near the Oregon Avenue course are urging the City Council to reject a new plan for the Woodlawn neighborhood that would allow the development of housing on a six-acre tract of land across the street from the course that was most recently used as a garage for the Parks Department.
