Albany County is bucking a national and regional real-estate trend, but in a rather unenviable way.
While sales of existing homes dipped nationally and plunged in the Northeast and in New York state, Albany County and the Capital District as a whole saw sales volume dead level with last year's first- quarter figures.
So far so good.
But while the median prices of homes rose a healthy 5.2 percent at the national level, Albany County saw a 4.3 percent decrease in average home prices in the first quarter.
