VIC:Elderly woman robbed of cash
MELBOURNE, Dec 21 AAP - A 96-year-old woman has been robbed in an early morning burglary
at her Melbourne home.
The sleeping woman awoke when an offender tried to break in through the front security
door shortly after midnight.
The burglar then smashed the window of an unoccupied bedroom to gain access to the
Albion home in Melbourne's west, stealing a purse and cash from the lounge room before
fleeing.
The woman, who lives alone, heard a noise and came out of her bedroom to investigate.
She found the broken window and alerted police.
